Curanderismo Ancestral Work: Creating & Caring for Different Types of Ancestral Altars

In this five-part series, we draw from Mesoamerican Indigenous wisdom to foster a deeper soul connection with our ancestors, delve into various sacred rites to strengthen these connections, prepare ourselves to offer healing to our ancestral lineages, explore transitional rites for our loved ones, as well as sacred grieving rites to process loss, strengthen our loved one’s soul energies, and honor new relationships. This class is open to anyone who can honor and respect these sacred traditions and practices.

At this class, we will:

• Explore the Creation of Ancestral Altars—Permanent, Temporary, & Mobile Ancestral Bundles
• Learn How to Care for These Altars, Your Ancestors, & Yourself through These Altars
• Delve into Trance Journeys to Connect & Deepen Your Connections via Ancestral Veneration & Altars
• Dive into Sacred Items for Altars that Aid our Ancestors & Infuse these Items with Our Ancestor’s Soul Energies

Erika blends her 20+ cumulative years of practicing as a curandera, mentoring with curanderx and shamans in the Maya Yucatecan jungle, LA, and Peru, and studying Mesoamerican Curanderismo at UCLA and UCR to provide you with a rich look into the fascinating world of Mesoamerican Curanderismo and Shamanism. She has a master’s degree in religious studies with a focus on Mesoamerican shamanism and curanderismo. She has written Cleansing Rites of Curanderismo, Curanderismo Soul Retrieval, Sacred Energies of the Sun and Moon, Animal Medicine, Veneration Rites of Curanderismo, and created the Mesoamerican Oracle Cards. As a modern-day curandera, she excels at translating and applying this sacred knowledge to help her clients realize and live their BLISS.
